Project Description:
Welcome to Oakridge Literacy Bag” program is designed as a resource to parents to educate them about the importance of early literacy skills and how to implement crucial skills at home, beginning at infancy. The bag has a variety of information on
development, parent-child play and literacy. Early literacy skills developed from birth and play a key role in providing a foundation for the child to learn to read as they enter school.
Included in the bag will be:

  • An Oakridge Onesie
  • Information about Oakridge Schools, including programs and services
  • Parent & Child Magazine by Scholastic
  • Nursery rhyme board book
  • Color and Numbers board book
  • Magnet that highlights a variety of literacy activities
  • Infant Nutrition handout from Muskegon County Health Department
